As contents to the RV, most everything that would be destroyed in an accident and would be replaced by the insurance company is something you have purchased, I guess. That is what they base the contents on. I have gotten several different opinions after hours on the phone to several different companies and several different options, like home owners and renters policy also. The machine belongs to Davita Corp, and we get the use of it and the supplies to operate it and health insurance pays for that, just like an oxygen machine or a cpap. Under this premise, even a CPAP may not be covered by contents insurance. With Renters and home owners, anything off-premises is only covered from 2%-10% of the total contents, and the machine is valued at 25,000, so one would have to have a contents listed over 1/4 mil just to cover the machine.
Just looking to see if anyone has needed to replace, through insurance after accident, a piece of expensive medical equipment while fulltimimg. The company we have now has provided a rider, but has doubled the vehicle premium this year with no claims or anything, so time to leave. Any suggestions or prior knowledge would certainly be appreciated. Thanks
