The Jeep platform has been one of the best selling suv platforms for many, many years. The GC has won awards year after year and the engine is one of the best on the market. There are many levels of the jeep in each model and not all ( including the GC) can be towed 4 down. The trans that can be put into nuetral ( active drive II I believe) is the only one in the newer models which will allow this.
We have had many Jeeps over the years and loved every one of them. We own a 2015 GC overland and absolutely love it.
Do not be lead astray by those here discussing the issues with the Jeep Cherokee. It's not a GC and those issues have not been experienced with this model.
You won't be disappointed. The gas GC we get around 19 - 21 mpg city/ highway. The diesel should do much better.
