Holstein13, friends of mine had a Jeep Liberty diesel. It was not a pleasant experience. They had trouble with the Chrysler dealer working on it (Iowa). There are not that many Jeep diesels and the dealers can be hit and miss.
Land Rovers are not towable four wheels down (I have one). I would love to tow that vehicle but I can't.
Honestly, I would go with a Suburban (or equivalent), especially, if you need that huge interior space. Also, I would go with a gas Grand Cherokee. That way, you won't have to worry about regeneration and DEF fluid.
