I don't mean to drop a wet blanket on Jeep products but I had two new Jeep Grand Cherokee LTD's in the past, a '96 and a '99. The '96 was a 2x4 and the '99 was a 4x4 with quadra-trac.
Both Jeeps had to be towed back to the dealer under their warranties as they left me stranded. The '99 had the Quadra-trac rebuilt twice and still was not 100%. It kept binding with severe vibration. So, I stayed away from Jeep products since.
I would think that the new Jeeps are better. I did look at the Jeep Cherokee as a potential next toad but Consumer Reports gave it a black mark on the transmission. So, that knocked it out for me. I'm now looking to trade at the end of the year and the 2017 Lincoln MKX AWD has surfaced to the top of the list.
My sister wants my CR-V and I would like to 'color coordinate' better with the new coach (this is a life or death situation) ....LOL.
I like the fact the Honda weighs about 3,400 lbs. but they are not towable anymore. The Lincoln comes in at 4,200 lbs. We can tow up to 20,000 lbs. (but I never would want to). We have acquaintances that tow a 2015 Suburban with their Liberty Coach and they like the roominess that it provides.
