Interesting "Toyhauler"

I wish I could have gotten a picture, but I was doing 65mph, and he passed me doing 75-80.

The guy had an older 5th wheel that had been modified. The frond was normal, but he had removed the original axles from the 5'ver, and attached a triple axle flatbed trailer under the rear if the 5ver. The middle axle was about where the bumper of the 5'ver was, and then it had a flat bed sticking out the back, with a ramp on it at about a 45 degree angle up the back of the camper. There was a jacked up jeep back there that probably had atleast 40" tires on it, covered in mud. Apparently it had a very flexible suspension. As he flew by me the jeep was bouncing like crazy.

It was being pulled by an older Dodge SRW.

I was really hoping I'd see him pull of to stop, but no such luck.

I'm sure he was overweight on some measurement. It was kinda scary looking going down the road.

Google "crawler hauler" for more of these.

Not nearly as well made as this one. Looked to be twice as big, but the jeep was to long for the back, so it was on a ramp at about a 45 degree angle. Mi wish I could have got a pic.

  • Why buy when you have the skills to build? I spent years building rock crawlers and it sure teaches you alot.
