International Phone cards...

For several years now we have used an ATT "calling card" purchased from Walmart. Probably the cheapest way to go for short term needs. Works for US and Canada.

Ended up buying a $25.00 Samsung for T Mobile. That and two cards..one 10 the second fifty for unlimited cel to cel calls, Internationally. Better than Trac-phone cards at the Target in Burlington.

Again..thanks for the input. And I 'meant' to get the Trac..but the sales guy asked me what I was doing, told him and he said...T Mobile has much better rates. And accepts incoming too.
$60 for the month unlimited.

Gary, The Walmart at Tulalip should have Tracphone. Been using it for 4 yrs while we winter in AZ. Like someone said, don`t get the $9.99 phone. Tooo much delay , especially when calling Canada.
Have a safe drive down.

ahhhh..ok ok...I was basing my comments of Trac phone on website wording. Those that I saw made no mention of into Canada useage where-as others made mention of that.

Many thanks..a Trac-phone it shall be when I get down into Seattle this morning.

Same here and people from Canada call to my tracfone. The only problem with tracfone is if you wanted to actually use it inside of Canada...that won't work. No problem with cell to cell either..those are most of my calls.

One note about the tracfone air cards...the smaller, cheaper cards are the worst price per minute. You typically have to get the larger cards (about $100 worth) to get a good rate per minute.

No need for a separate 'international phone card'

We've been using this for years. Once in a while we let it expire and the phone won't reactivate. Dump the old one get a new one. Nothing wrong with the $9 one, usually last years model. They all come with double minutes no matter what minute card you buy. For long distance put the 800# in your speed dial then punch in whatever, eazy peazy.

It's so cheap we treat it as a disposable.

What do you mean when you say a Trac Phone cannot make cell to cell calls? Why not? There is nothing different about that kind of call....

What I have learned....because I am making cel-to-cel calls...this creates problems. Trac-phone doesn't seem to provide for calls to Canada and many do not provide for that cel-to-cel call.

Yes, I am bringing the Internet..are you kidding me?..but I am not using a stick so am reliant on hot-spots, and often those do not provide enough bandwidth for a phone call. That or it gets chopped off mid call. And that just drives me 'round the bend.

The cards..one has to really watch. That one I saw for one cent a minute..also rounded out to the nearest 5 minutes, I think. Plus connect and mtce charges. I have found one that has a chat window and I like having a record of what gets said. It provides for 1,850 minutes for $50.00 and cel-to-cel.

We use a Tracfone from Walmart. Just don't buy the cheapest $9 phone, its too cheap, splurge for the $15 phone, then by airtime cards as needed. Our Rogers US travel plan was $40 for 50 minutes and then .80 a minute over.
