That is a hard call. I have never been in that situation and hope not too :)
I would think hubby would escort the person in and show them how to work the foot lever. But if the person asking is 'scary' literally in any way the answer would be no. lady and kids, well mostly yes.
As much as it is my home, worried about weirdos, worried about breaking things etc. I don't know if I could turn someone away who needed a bit of help.
