Inverter Charger vs Individual Components
To be able to run the A/C and a major appliance at one time I'll need no less than 3000 watts. I'm either not understanding properly or something as I'm understanding that I'll need an inverter charge...

you still need the generator, you need to recharge the batteries during the day
to replace the power you used last night, and early morning

at 5am you will need the inverter and "good batteries"
at 8am you can very likely use the generator
toaster etc, 2000w inverter "one thing at a time"

and realize this 1200w is 10amps at 120v, but takes 100amps at 12v from the batteries
volts * amps =watts 120*10 =1200 aka 12v*100a = 1200w
you are going to need 4 batteries do this regularly with out damaging the batteries
