we got it also. woman saying there was legal action pending against us.
called again and hubby answered. the lady transferred him to a guy that said we owe the IRS for evasion and the cops were coming to our house in 45 mins. to arrest us....HAHAHA
So ya tell the guy if the cops can make it in
thirty (30) minutes you'll have coffee and dough-nuts waiting for 'em!!
If *not* in thirty minutes, send SWAT, the FBI, US Marshals, or Pound Sand!

BTW - Yikes! -
*WHY* would you bother with the woman on the phone in the first place?..:?..:h
SOP - calls go to an answering machine..:S
If it's "for real" - the caller can leave a message - most do not.
Might look at the caller ID - if it's someone I know, I'll pick up.
*If* by some rare instance I answer - and someone starts their "spiel" on whatever "subject" - I simply say,
"I don't do business, surveys, contributions, or purchases over the phone. Thank you, and Good bye."
Clunk.
The "IRS lady" never would have made it past two or three words..:S
And -of course- she would *NOT* have rated a return call if she left a message...:S
