Up here in Newfoundland, there is another scam. They call you up and say that if the power bill is not paid immediately, the power will be disconnected. The number even shows up as coming from the power company.
We also have the number listed as DW's name before we met. If some one calls and asks for Mr or Mrs then we immediately know that we don't want to talk to them. Our usual answer is that they are on vacation, we are only house sitting. Don't know when they will be back.
