Is it the People or the the Places?

When we first started RVing in the mid 70's, we were drawn to the lifestyle by the places we could see. Forty years and 45 states later, it has become more and more about the people we meet and not the places we see. It could be that we've seen so many places or the fact that there are so many people we have never met. Or it could be a maturing perspective on life. Why do you RV.
  • For us it is both. We enjoy seeing new places and meeting new people. We have run into many that we have met over the years. Always nice to see new faces and old faces.
  • We met a couple during our first year of full-timing. They were in the same
RV park with us and their first motorhome was one exactly like ours. Have
kept in touch thru the years and have met at Stephen Foster SP in Florida
for many Christmas's. Have been in every state except Hawaii and have visited
many places throughout the U.S. Would not trade these experiences for anything!
    Life is great as full-timers
  • For us it has always been places - no question.

We go to see new places and also repeat places we love.

We are not the "part of the crowd" people who sit around the campfire swapping stories of all kinds; probably mostly truthful.

My wife and I have a one word answer to most anything in life --- PEOPLE !

That can be said in either a positive situation or the opposite. We migrate toward the former and stay away from the latter.

Give us - with our dog - a hike on a mountain or along the beach or out on an early morning or later evening photo shoot of the sun and scenery and we absolutely love it and are at peace.

That is what we have done for 17 years part time rv'ing and 52 years - today - of marriage.
