It's all 'life choices' and each has their own priority, need, want, whatever...
Something will always have to 'give' in order to 'take' which you are finding out first hand!
My situation is completely different from yours, so I can't really say what "I" would do in your situation, but I do have my own time and financial constants that limit the amount of time away I can have too.... My solution has been taking long weekend camping trips and that's usually enough to fulfill my 'camping bug' for the season...
