To **ll with the house work and yard work for a weekend. My sanity is more important than dealing with the daily grind. As far as for sports, what will happen if they miss a game? They probably won't be missed. DS has a game this weekend, but I'll be at the beach with my toes in the water. I need a break! It's not like they have a job and will be fired if they don't show up for the game. Go have fun. My kids are excited to go (8,12) and trying to figure out how many friends they can bring with them.
As far as summer daycare check the local parks and recreation department. Some have daycare available for a fee at a local park. Scan the neighborhood for the teenage girl who is looking for a summer gig and have her watch the kids for those two weeks. That way the misses can still have her time off for family vacations. Ask who others use for daycare at work they might be able to take a couple more kids.
