We could get away together for 4 days maybe twice a year as a family, or a week as individuals. Before the kids hit High School, we took two rv trips each one 3 weeks long. And that was in a used pop up. Only after retiring did we get involved in rving again. In general 4 days a couple times is just not enough time to decompress, plus it is a lot of work to plan that 4 day trip. I would suggest that if you can, spend that time with family, visit your parents and brothers and sisters if you can. That is important.
We may have just taken our last camping trip - without knowing it.
I can't take any time off in the summer - I work in air conditioning. It's a non-starter. So the new trailer would just sit unused.
So is it best at this point to sell the trailer and the truck? Not to mention all of the associated gear (tents, sleeping bags, hunting rifles, coolers, etc, etc) and maybe revisit RVing in 10 years after the kids are gone?
Any input is appreciated.
