Back in 06 and 07 you would see so much activity here it was crazy. Everyone was buying big diesel pushers and RV's, people were upgrading every year or two it was nuts. Then the crash happened and it became a ghost town as people dealt with their financial mess.
You've seen a big uptick in RVs as things have recovered. We are getting to the point now though where we are do for another pullback. Nothing like the first but a good pull back. Some might even argue we are in a dead cat bounce and not a recovery. Only time will tell.
You also have to realize that the later half of the baby boomer population are much poorer than the early birds. You're likely to see a significant number of them continue working as long as possible. That makes the idea of RV'ing difficult for many unless you're doing it to FT and cut costs.
There is also a lot more competition forum wise. Take a look at all the manufacturers that have forums now, there are also a few other general RV forums. More options leaves less posting here.
Then you add to that this site tends to randomly hate Chrome at times. You post and it hangs, hangs and hangs. Then errors out. This the only site this happens on so that can run people off at times.
In short, yes, winter cuts participation but there are other factors at play.
