First off, it's winter and a large portion of the country is not actively camping. Many are probably on to other things for the off season.
Secondly, there's too many senior members here who are quick to scold newbies for anything they don't deem as significant. When someone asks a basic question, they are usually pig-piled on with rants about using the search feature to find previous posts on the subject. It would have been more friendly (and often quicker) to just type a response to the newb and move on.
Lastly, I've been here long enough to know everything there is to know, so I have less reason to participate! (JK of course!) ;-)
