Keep in mind the moderators are very connected to the sponsors and advertisers.
Is that an assumption you are making, or do you know that for a fact?
All the forums I visit typically solicit the assistance of long term members to moderate. And there's no compensation. I moderated a car forum, and owned my own forum, and participate in multiple forums spanning lots of different topics.

My interpretation of 352's statement is it's neutral in tone and merely points out a possible reality.
I can say that I've also moderated a forum and over time you can slant your position towards that of the site's owner what w/ knowing more of the day to day operations.
Please note the neutrality in my response as well:B.
352's statement is declarative, not pointing out a possible reality.
Possible reality would be to state that moderators may be closely tied to sponsors and advertisers. Not a statement leaving no doubt.
I don't believe we should question the integrity of moderators. It is a tough, thankless job, as you probably well know NYCgrrl. In fact, being a moderator can take away some of the enjoyment out of forum participation. That's one reason I quit moderating a seriously busy car forum. I found myself spending more time moderating than simply enjoying the topics.

Ditto here too. Moderating is more than just reading and messing with questionable posts. And for an active group, it is a royal pain. It's not always a lot of fun even on a slow forum. There is always someone attributing your actions to some sort of bias or prejudice, rather than admitting that it was themselves who stepped over the line.
