Forum Discussion

So from reading every post I think the consensus is that it is declining.
The reasons are varied of course but range from Absolutist Moderation methods to Snarky rude one line replies.
I will be off to Alaska in a few days (yes I am driving it in Feb/Mar)with my trailer. I am sure the site will still be here when I arrive in Fairbanks. (see the Alaska/Canada forum for the whole story)
But to end this conversation for me here is a plea to Good Sam and those that run this forum:
The Vast majority of folks who posted here agreed that there IS a problem with the site, Most, it is fair to say, point to Moderation and Rudeness as the culprits.
Consider Changing some of the policies to encourage open, civil discussion and disagreement while emphasizing CIVILITY and a lighter touch my moderators.(As has been exhibited by whoever moderated this thread. Thank You) A thoughtful rewording of the rules and added clarity therein would help.
Too often I think serious discussion scares some moderators and posts and threads are deleted needlessly while threads/topics filled with snarky rude one-liners are let go forever.
I think this may be part of the problem.
Thanks to all who posted on this.
