There has been many pages devoted here to whats wrong with the site but very few suggestions for actual improvement. So here I will go out on a limb and list what I think might be some interesting changes.
A NEW GUI, updated, clean and no ads
The ability for the OP to close the thread
The ability of a poster to delete (completely delete) his own post. (Some will say you can do this now. That is not the case all you can do is delete the text leaving an empty posting.)
A requirement that moderators explain their actions and give a poster the chance to change/rectify an out of line post.
A REAL Dictionary and a search engine that can actually find something.
Change the rules to remove or explain terms like "attack" "Snarky" and others which are so vague that they are often used to close posts or threads where in fact no actual attack or rudeness actually took place.
Add a forum into the Ask Marcus section where Site issues and issues of Moderation can be discussed, praised or complained about. And where we can learn from GSE what they think and what may be in the works for the future of the site.
Start a grass roots movement of members on the site to stop the one-liner emoticon snarkfest that seems to pop up at every thread. IE a little peer moderation.
