I think the problem with the improvements is they do not promote the sales of CW items and products. The goal of the forum is to promote RV'ing and hopefully promote and sell Affinity product's in the process.
It is not designed to be a state of the art RV forum for the benefit mere benefit of RV'ers to do as they want.
Let start with no Ads! Really! Ads are the lifeblood of all forums. Otherwise there must be membership fees to cover cost.
A requirement moderators explain their actions! Really to who! The whole thing is really not that important. The volunteers spend enough time keeping the forum clean without having to report to a Kangaroo court to justify their actions.
Again a place to complain about moderators,Lets have the moderators monitor the forum members and then have the forum members monitor the moderators.
The owners of the forum have chosen moderators who have committed themselves to enforce the rules established by the owners. This is not a democracy. The rules have been established and generally not up for debate.
The suggestions mentioned seem to focus a bit much on the moderators.
I don't see the moderators as much of a problem. Over the years I have had a few (not many) Altered or deleted. While I may not have agreed with or understood the moderator's decision I respected it and move on.
In the end the focus of this forum is to provide a FREE internet site to promote Affinity products and discuss all things RV'ing. It accomplishes that goal.
The goal is not to be a state of the art forum, where everything and anything can be discussed without moderation or consequence.
I imagine Facebook or other forums may meet that criteria however RV.net is not that virtual place and I hope it never becomes that place.
I want it to be a place where I can log on from my computer, ask or discuss a RV related issue and get experienced ,knowledgeable responses.
Currently the forum meets those expectations, which is all I am after.
