There are 4 rangers on duty in Acadia NP. The park has so many public roads in and around the park, it is virtually impossible to keep folks out. I was hiking at Eagle Lake yesterday, there were 2 rangers where I was exiting the park - both said "hi" and went back to their conversation. There are cars parked along all the roads, people are hiking/biking in the park. The roads within the park are closed, of course. The local chamber of commerce is distributing info sheets showing where you can access Acadia!! Local gov standing up to the feds, I guess.
