On the freeway yesterday:
Person happily blasting up I-80, smartphone against the ear.
CHP behind offender to the left making patrol car visible to driver.
Patrol car rides up and matches vehicles speed.
Driver slows down hoping patrolman will go on his way.
Patrolman of course is watching the driver.
At no time did the driver care and put phone away.
Vehicle stopped by CHP at the Riverside exit on eastbound I-80.
See this constantly here in the area.
Evidently even with the Billboard, TV, Web, mail campaign that goes on here many think the law is a joke or aren't aware.
