Why? It's their choice. Those of us that drive to and from work in temps in single digits and snow on the ground 5 day's a week or more are doing fine. 32 degrees is tropical in some places and 22 degrees is good skinny dipping weather...it's only what you make out of it, nothing more, nothing less....and I don't live in the midwest...anyone full timing, to me, has it made, and hopefully in about 31 months, I'll be one of them:)
