Left Phoenix four days ago because it was 94F and getting too hot. Came north to visit friends in the higher elevations of Prescott. They have 3 acres at the base of Granite Mtn with plenty of room for the MH. It's been in the 70s and nice here. It's rained nicely all night. So, I'm sitting here looking out the large front windows of the MH while still waking up and what do I see, but some snow flurries coming down! At first I thought that couldn't be right, but you could watch the light wind blowing them around under the trees which wouldn't happen with rain. The weather shows that it's 42F outside wherever Prescott measures their temp and we're probably higher then that.Prescott is a nice town, come on over and see it.Bill

Yeah, we were going to head out to camp in the Tombstone area yesterday but with the storm coming through and forecast winds up to 50mph, we decided to stay home. Didn't hear anything about snow in the forecast, but it's snowed before in April. We're heading to Cottonwood next weekend to camp and ride the train so it should be nice.

Apparently it is snowing in eastern San Diego county at 5000 ft elevation.Supposed to be sweltering by Wednesday or so.

I lived there for a year. Its a nice place but just wasnt home so came back to Nv. Its snowing here also.

We love the old town of Prescott AZ - It ranks right up there with the RED ROCKS of Sedona and the Indian Ruins around Flagstaff...try to visit everytime our travels takes that way...We are getting old now (mid 70s) and don't know if we have many more long trips left in our bucket list or not.We lived in the Phoenix area for a few years back in my working days so got to spend alot of weekends in the high country of AZ... My landlord lives in Prescott. He moved down there to retire and married a woman from the area after his first wife passed away. They used to come back in the spring and on a 50 degree day I would be running around the yard in a t-shirt. She would be all bundled up in a winter coat and scarf. She would laugh at me and I at her.

They're about 100 miles apart.

It can be snowing at my house and raining at the top of the street. We're in a slight valley and it can make a huge difference. Boston is 25 miles from here. Quite often we'll get a large accumulation and they will get nothing. We're only 93 feet above sea level. Ocean temps play a huge role as well as elevation.

Have been to Prescott as my son looked at Embry-Riddle for college. LOVED IT! Loved the whole area. He changed his major and wound up about an hour away from home. In some ways having an excuse to visit that area again would have been great but I will admit I like him close to home!

Latest on records here is 5/9/77. Blizzard on the coast, nothing in western MA where my sis was attending college.

RAS43....I know just what you mean. I live on the Palmer Divide. We had snow last Wednesday..a couple of inches, and are expecting another 2-6 inches tomorrow, or should I say beginning overnight. Been a while since we had this type of winter!! That being said, this is the reason many won't plant their annual flower beds until at least Mother's day. I have seen snow at the upper elevations every month of the year. At the lower elevations I have seen it in early June and late August. Ahhhh life in the Rockies

Have seen it snow in June! Hope that doesn't happen this year, but I would not be to surprised if it did.

We just returned from our second trip and snow is due tomorrow here. When we got home from our first trip 2 weeks ago it snowed 4" the next day. Winter will not give up!!

We are in Show Low in eastern AZ at 6500' elevation. The forecast is for snow above 8000' now it blowing hard and a few drops of rain are falling.
This system is supposed to blow through and be nice the rest of the week.

It amazes me how much the altitude affects the weather. As an example, Phoenix, AZ at 1,000 ft. ASL gets less than 1 inch of snow per year. Flagstaff, AZ at 7,000 ft. ASL gets about 35 inches a year.
They're about 100 miles apart.
