- mdaExplorerClerbrook Golf and RV Resort in Clermont, FL. One mile from Turnpike and outside the "sphere of influence" of Orlando. Stay away from campgrounds that will put you on I-4 for your travels. It is a nightmare in the best of times, now it is under construction. Use 429 and 417 around Orlando.
- amdriven2livExplorerWe are currently at ThemeWorld Rv Resort. Not too bad a place. Just off I-4 near Davenport Fla.
From what we have heard and what you are seeing here, those months are "peak season".
Good luck.
ThemeWorld RV Resort - Deb_and_Ed_MExplorer IIWe've stayed at the Kissimmee KOA on Whippoorwill Lake several times - it's not the cheapest, but it's BEAUTIFUL. It's on Narcoossee Rd, which you can take north for a couple miles to hit 417 on the S side of Orlando. Very convenient location; and far enough off the road that it's quiet and peaceful.

I don't know if you have dogs - but this place has an amazing, HUGE fenced Dog Park!! And if you don't, it's nowhere near the campsites... - Playtime_IIExplorerCannot recommend Thousand Trails in Claremont. Stayed there in Jul and the park was mostly empty as it was hottest time of the year. Anyways, only certain sites in the main area are 50amp. Most afternoons, our PI shut off the power due to low voltage.
- Chris_BryantExplorer IINo recommendations, but I agree to avoid I-4 at all costs, and plan on buying an e-pass (they're actually free) if you don't have a compatible one.
- jnharleyExplorerWe usually visit family in the Orlando area in the March time frame and have a terrible time finding a place to stay. We usually have to make reservations a year in advance and that is at Lake Louisa State Park. Tough to find a long term site this late.

We were there end of July and left early due to power loss in the campground. No answer as to when it would be back on. - lakeside013104Explorer

In Clermont Elite Resorts at Citrus Valley..
The above is a great place if you don't mind paying $800 to $1000 per month. Clean park with lots of pavers and some oak trees that drop acorns on your roof all night long. Nice entertainment every night with the Disney fireworks noise going off around 9 pm.
If you like stand offish folks you will enjoy this park and the wonderful sewer smell coming from the waste treatment plant during the blowing of the westerly winds is amazing.
Oh, I almost forgot, the barking dogs are truly one of the high points. If you are transient you must keep your dog quiet, but if you are a site owner, your dog can bark all day and all night for you will be exempt for park rules.
The fitness center is a plus because you must walk 3/10 of a mile, past a pond with alligators and water moccasins before you arrive at the center. By the time you get there your heartbeat is up and you are all warmed up for the rest of your workout.
I have been brought up to always say something positive or say nothing at all. I guess I better stop while I am ahead.
Enjoy the park form
