Jeep Liberty recall notice

Anybody get their Jeep recall notice yet? The one about a rear end accident fire hazard. I called the dealer and was told to wait for a letter from Jeep
They are supposed to install a hitch to protect the gas tank.
They agreed to do this improvement last June and am still waiting for a notice to arrive.

    Looks like the east coast is getting them first.

    I'll bug our local dealer here in CA. So far, every Liberty I see has no new hitch.

    My hitch was installed today (30 days from the day I first contacted my local Jeep dealer). The dealer is getting an average of one set of parts/week but says he expects the pipeline to fill quicker in the near future. Before the question is asked, yes, it was totally on Jeep's tab.

    Was this the recall or just on your tab?

    The reason I ask is that Jeep may be stalling to have us worry and have us pay for the hitch ourselves.

    Wouldn't you know I'm on a 2 month trip and the Jeep is at home.

    I received my notice today and called for an appointment to have the hitch installed. I was told that the parts are not readily available but that the dealer should receive more parts next week and then they will call me to schedule to schedule the work.
