Jeep Liberty recall notice

BUMP

It's been about half a month since I posted the original. No notice for my Jeep yet. Since the upgrade could save lives, I will try evey 2 weeks in case I or somebody else gets their recall notice.

Thanks everybody for the info. I currently have a Reese hitch on my Liberty that was installed by an RV shop. It has some nasty protrushions {that could puncture the tank}near the gas tank so I'm driving the toad as little as possible until I can get the hitch replaced.

Unless I get my notice soon, I will replace it with a factory hitch myself.

Maybe Jeep is counting on this?

I only got a recall for the airbag.

I installed a Reese Class III hitch on my 97 GC 4 years ago. They will still want to inspect the aftermarket hitch for sharp edges and may still replace it with the new hitch. It sure is taking them a while. I have 2 family members that need this done and was going to install myself until I found out they still need to inspect.

We are also still waiting but I have already had a type III hitch installed six years ago.

I was planning on a trailer hitch and may have to go ahead and buy one before the recall comes through.
