Looking to tow a new JL Wrangler and use my RVI brake which needs a 12V power source. Does the new JL have a power port that is active with the ignition off. Thanks
Don't forget to connect the charge wire from the motorhome to your Jeep. This will prevent the brake controller from eventually draining the Jeep's battery.
I have a Roadmaster setup. I ran a wire from Pin 2 (center pin) through a 15A fuse, and connected it to the Jeep's battery.
While I currently have a TJ era Jeep, I will be adding a JL version soon (Unlimited Wrangler Rubicon with Eco-diesel).
I tried this port in the dash but it does not appear hot when the ignition is off. On my TJ, the port was always active. If anyone is towing a JL , where do you plug your braking device in.
Can't speak on the JL but our 2017 JKU has a power port inside the center console between the front seats, on the front wall of the console - that port is not switched.
I don't want to hi-jack this thread, but we just bought a new JLUR and want to downsize our rig to a Sprinter C. We'd love to hear from anyone with a Sprinter towing a JLU how it is going. I assume you must be near GCVW. Thanks Joel
