Been away for quite a while. Thanks in advance for your time.
Having used my Jordan for over 10 years (and COMPLETELY satisfied with it), I'm starting to have an issue with it. I've just bought a new TT and the Jordan must not like it.
First off the TT connection at the TV is VERY tight, and I have to jiggle it a lot to get it all the way in.
That being said, when I picked my TT after warranty repairs, I stopped the first time and felt the TT pushing me. Looking at the Jordan, I had a green light (connections good) yet no digital read-out when brake pedal depressed OR manual button pushed. There was no braking at the TT with the manual pressing as well. After pressing the brake pedal numerous times, it started to work again.
I agree with Bessie Hunter. When I was using my Jordan on my 2003 2500 Burb,

I had a situation when the green light was on and I was not even connected to the camper. I had some wet corrosion in the 7 wire plug. It only takes a few milliamps to turn the light on.
Things that do not yet fit with a bad controller;
Why would the Jordan just up and die because you bought a new camper?
A tight fitting 7 wire plug can mean the brake connection is not making contact the way it is suppose to and may not be passing full current.
Brand new trailers brakes can be notorious for having the brakes out of adjustment if the dealer never tweaked them after the delivery. Look at a Dexter manual, the 1st 200 miles on new shoes and the non self adjusting brakes means, they just wore off the high spots and need to be tweaked to work at full power. This means you have to send more power to get similar braking. While you still have brakes they are not as efficient and in your case the 7 wire plug may not be sending enough current to start with. A double hit for less braking.
That said, hitting a controller to make it wake up is not good.
Before I would take the controller apart or pitch it I would make sure the camper and 7 wire plug for sure is A OK. If the controller is the problem, well now is the time to replace it. The day you need to make a panic stop and it goes flaky, well you get the picture. It's not worth it.
When I sold the Burb, I kept the Jordan. Just too good to give away with the truck. I put the old time based one in. My son now has my Jordan, he uses it on his older Expedition. Why Camco never pushed it after they bought it is a real good question. Most anyone who has had/has one, loves it.
Good luck and hope this helps
