jumper cable hookup

Using one of my 12 volt tow vehicle batteries to jump start my trailer generator.....what posts do I attach my positive and negative jumper cables to my two six volt golf cart batteries on the trailer.
  • thats a 12v battery in (2) pieces
    you attach to the ENDS,
the main positive going to the trailer
and the main negative aka going to ground

do NOT connect anything to cable or posts between the (2) 6v boxes
aka do NOT connect anything to the middle

    Yes it is.

And to the O/P. You don't.

ON the Generator there should be a bolt, Big (quarter inch or bigger) with a red plastic cover more than likely and a large PLUS sign beside it.. Hook the RED cable to this bolt then to the POSITIVE battery terminal.

Negative hook first to the battery then to the CHASSIS on the generator.

    Forget the batteries.

Leave connected till the transfer switch does it's thing and transfers since the jump battery is running the generator's fuel pump.
  • Just thought of another option......duh.....I'm paying for CoachNet. Let them do their thing! Thanks for the tips! The units still in storage and we're finally able to start planning some get aways .....I hope!
  • Two six volts equal one " battery ", a battery is two or more cells connected continuously , positive to negative thus building volts , huh !

Yes and on the 6 volters, connect nothing to the center interconnected terminals.
  • IDK

That's not a road side EMG
