The Focus was scratched off our list, when I saw that you have to disconnect the battery whenever you tow it. Don't want anything to do with that.
You have been disconnecting the battery when towing it, right? If not, that may be why you fried the tranny, as major transmission damage has been known to occur with those if battery isn't disconnected.
This was one reason why we chose the Fusion hybrid over the Focus. No battery to disconnect, no fuses to pull, no need to start up engine every so often, none of that stuff. Just put it in neutral and go, tow as long and as far as you want, up to 70mph. Mileage is pretty much unbeatable, too.
