Keeping camper on site no tow vehicle

Would it be unrealistic to purchase a camper and use it for the season and have the campground store for winter? Had a camper before my divorce and we had a seasonal place. We stored it there for the winter.
Looking to be back in. Thank you. I planned on having it towed to campground.
  • We absolutely use our RV seasonally. We pick a place we want to visit, drive up there in the RAM 1500, pick a park and reserve a slot for the summer season.

Prior to the moving day, we hire a commercial hauler to move our 5th wheel to that camp site and, when the season is over, hire a commercial hauler to move it home (or wherever). Runs about $3 per loaded mile which, for us, is still much, much cheaper than paying for and maintaining a huge tow vehicle.

During the off-season, we pull maintenance on the RV and use it as a party room and guest house. :)
  • Although we don't store our camper here, they charge $175 to store the camper on site for the winter (October 1 - April 30). There are very few seasonal campers here that have a tow vehicle. One of our neighbors bought a new camper a couple months ago. Campground owners removed the old one with a tractor and the RV dealer delivered the new.
