keystone manufacturing defect

I recently bought a new 2014 bullet rv with defects in the front gel coat cap. On delivery I signed off that the unit was ok. That day ,at home I proceeded to polish the front cap and on very close inspection and from the right angle noticed hairline cracks in the cap. 7 days later I went to a camping world dealer where the fiberglass repair man noted the defects I photographed the cracks but the photos did not clearly show the problem. Keystone has denied my claim saying it was from a impact. The general manager and all who have seen the cracks agree it is not impact damage but keystone who has not bothered to inspect the damage continues to deny my claim.. and would not even have a factory rep check out my claim. What can I do?
  • I don't know your gender, so forgive me for assuming you are a man.... but borrow some facial powder from your wife/mother/sister. Rub it across the cracks to enhance them, (wipe the rest off) then get someone with a camera with a macro lens, and take pictures. Including a ruler in the photo for reference might help.
  • I would use the trailer while still on warranty. If there is something wrong, the cracks will grow and there will be no doubt of defective material.

Spider cracks are typically non-structural damage to the gel-coat often caused by flexing.

With all the boats in Florida, there should be some fiberglass experts.
  • IS the camping World that you took RV to same one that you bought from?

IF not.....need to get purchase dealer involved.

YOU should also contact Keystone directly....and go up supervisor chain until you get a rep to inspect damage.
Don't take NO......if you get a NO ask for next next higher up.
  • your dealer is the one that needs to do something. They should be talking to the factory.
