Kitchen sink crack

I have a plastic double bowl kitchen sink in our Jayco and noticed a small crack in the bottom of it. Anybody have any patch ideas or should I just buy a new sink. Leaning to patching it for now and buy new sink next year. Just wondering if anybody has had any luck patching.

  • I got a crack in my plastic sink a couple of years ago. Got a 2 part urethane patch kit, sanded around the crack lightly, drilled a tiny hole at each end of the crack to keep it from running, mixed a little color in it and was done. Dried and cured an about 30 min. Also did the same on a crack in the bathtub on a previous unit that I kept for 3+ years that never leaked or ran. Cost about $8.00 and 20min work.
  • I had a crack in my sink also, and replaced the sink with a stainless one. I could not find the exact size, but the one I found was about one inch smaller than the cutout (long ways from right to left). I put flat aluminium on both sides to cover the gap. I had to make sure the sink was not too deep so it wouldn't hit the drawer under the sink.
  • Thanks for the responses. I am leaning towards trying to find a stainless one that is the same size and replace. If I don't get to it before the next trip I will tape and glue and use carefully.
  • Replace it. I've done that and, at least in my case, the cost was very reasonable. Pretty easy DIY project. Had to do kitchen and bath in a previous TT.
  • I dropped a hammer in the shower and caused a hole about the size of a dime right where the water wants to go. Picked up something like the following from Home Depot. Repair was easy and almost a perfect match. Solid repair with no leaks for three years. Don't ask how the hammer managed to get into the shower....: Shower and Tub repair
  • In the short term you could probably patch it with silicone caulk or duct tape the underside of the sink. But long term I would replace it.
