Kitchen storage can rack

At 12" H and 12" deep, it would fit nicely in one of my cabinets over the sofa. But I found a set of 12 clear plastic shoe boxes with snap on lids on Amazon for less than $30. Each box holds several cans upright, depending on the diameter of the cans. And nothing is going to bounce off my head when I open the cabinet door, unless its the whole box. :)

I have a friend who is into woodworking. She made some can rotators for her RV pantry. She loved them but has since given them to me and installed what she calls "overtravel full extension slideout shelves". They look more like shallow drawers to me but they sure do work great.

This would definitely not work for us. My wife never puts anything back in the same place and this might make it too simple for me to find things. Much easier for her to move around individual cans :)

No problem, BTW. I hope I did not come off as saying that this was a a 'bad product' ... I kinda get that sense from your reply. :)

One other good point about this is no matter if it is full or not, the cans won't be all over the place as when they are stacked one on top of the other. Our pantries are shallow cabinets so moving around is not a problem, but fitting this rack is, so it would have to in a deep cabinet over the sink. For my vertically challenged wife this would is a no-no anyway.

I like it, I actually found a taller one, all I gotta do is get the measurements, then measure my cabinet. Right now, I do the stack thing in a plastic type milk crate, inefficient use of space, & sometimes the second tier doesn't wind up in the same place they started in. Thanks for the post. ;)

Doubt that my wife would like this for longer than 1 minute. You can't see the cans beyond the first row (especally below the first level) and she'd have to take them all out every time because she'd forget what was behind the first row since the last time she took them all out. :)

UPDATE - So I showed my wife the rack first and asked what she thought of it and she said she liked it a lot, but it would not fit in our pantry especially at the lower level. Then I showed her my post above and she agreed and though that I was "probably right". ;)

Bottom line - unless you had the same canned product behind the cans in the first row like in the supermarket (like the Diet Coke in the picture), this is not a good fit for us.
