Knick knacks and fragile items?

Can anyone tell me, especially you full-timers, what you do with knick knacks and small fragile items? I've got a lot that I'd like to take on the road, but I don't want to pack them all up every time I move, nor screw them all down.

Any creative solutions?
  • If you absolutely must take them, place them on your bed, then cover them with a heavy blanket or duvet. Be sure to place towels between the items to stop them touching each other. This is how my framed photos travel. But.....IMHO...leave them home!
  • Fragile items need to be packed in an RV just like you'd pack them if you were using a moving company to transport them in the back of a semi-truck! No easy short cuts if you want to protect them in transport.
  • We put everything away when we move...wrapped in whatever works.

Our 'valuable nick nacks' are left at our home base and really don't need to bring them along.

You might try securing them with some museum wax. It is very tacky stuff. My wife uses it to secure her fine glassware as we live in earthquake country.

I heard someone describe living RV living as constant "earthquake conditions." Thanks.
