I reread the article and noticed that the J1772 unit is a 10 KW unit. Which is kinda nice for the bigger batteries that are in the 1/2 ton EV pickups. That’s pretty much a full charge on most of the trucks assuming one doesn’t arrive dead empty. Nice for the overnight crowd.

Forward thinking IMO. Will require “upgrading” at many parks…increased expenses at mom and pops to compete. Do electric cars “monitor” the power they are receiving?

I would think that there would definitely be a charge (no pun intended) for using the EV chargers. After all it is KOA.

It’s definitely getting more common here. Two years ago we would see one or two a month heading out on a Friday night after work to some local campsite. This last summer it was much more common. But there are so many amazing camp grounds within 200 or 300 kilometres that I don’t think range is much of an issue. The bigger challenge is to be set up by dark. Tricky when you can’t hit the road until 5:30 or so.

Pretty smart. Low cost addition to meet a growing market. Lots of Rver's rent cars too and hertz just ordered a whole fleet of Teslas.

There are even a few folks towing trailers with all-electric SUVs.
