We use a Saris Bones bike rack on the rear of our Tahoe. It holds three adult bikes and clears our camper and electric jack. I too grew tired of stowing them inside the camper and know better than to hang anything on the back of it. Bought it at a local sporting goods store. The Saris takes me about 10 minutes to mount and hang the bikes, two road bikes and a big white wall tired road master something or other my wife rides....
