The problem with all laminent flooring is the sub straight. It is largely made from some sort of wood by product. And as such is subject to swelling and shrinkage. When it is laid in an RV that is stories in Humid conditions it could become a big problem. Lots of people have installed the vinyl plank flooring with great success instead.
Laminate IS NOT made from a wood product, well at least in the context of "wood." The surface of laminate is melamine resin and the backing material is medium density fiberboard. - UsmcsousaExplorerI just went through the process of replacing all my old carpet with Traffic master allure vinyl plank flooring from home depot.. very easy to install, only need a utility knife and a heavy roller.
It was 90+ degrees when it was installed, has dropped to the 30s and back to the 80s a few times. I haven't had any expansion issues or raised spots. You leave a 1/4 gap at your walls and cover with quarter round molding. - donn0128Explorer IIThe problem with all laminent flooring is the sub straight. - monkey44Nomad IIDupont = good, and has the pad attached. Saves one step installing, and pad doesn't slip. I put it in my kitchen (house) and camper floor. Worked great for a lot of years, very durable product.
