The OP indicated that the fine for not getting the vehicle registered is $100.00. According to the Nevada DMV website, the fines start at $1000.00 - link: http://www.dmvnv.com/nvreg.htm#residency
"You must register your vehicle in Nevada if you are a resident as outlined below or a non-resident who meets certain conditions. The initial fine for failing to register your vehicle in Nevada is $1,000."
This can be reduced by the judge if the violators provide proof of registration at the time of the hearing. If you don't show up to pay the fine, a bench warrant will be issued for your arrest.
We will plan our itinerary accordingly to avoid spending 30 days there in any given year.
