- quoyfabExplorerBeautiful along the coast of Maine last week. Getting chilly and days are short. BUT next year will be here before you know it. Time to winterize the fiver.
- westendExplorerThe last time I was in the UP camping was Easter, many moons ago. There was 3' of snow on the ground and it was well below freezing for much of the time. Fall looks like a better time to visit.
I'm looking forward to Whitetail season in Northern MN. It may be real cold or it may be warm. Occasional snow keeps the hunter population down. That is a good thing! - garmpExplorer IIJust returned from the UP a week ago. No colors or minimal at best when we were there. Stayed a few days at Tahquamenon Falls State Park and did the Painted Rocks boat tour. Gorgeous area. Wished we spend more time there.

We're just coming off of a three week trip into the UP. The colors are just starting to turn here in northern Wisconsin, I guess we should've planned to go just a little later. Oh well it was amazing though and we'll probably do it again next fall. :B

We were in Upper Peninsula last June. We couldn't do the Painted Rocks, Water too rough for DW. We enjoyed the Shipwreck Museum at Whitefish Point and the lunch cruise through the Locks in Sault Ste Marie. Nice pics.. - Dave_H_MExplorer IIWe haven't been out since last winter, but will be on the road in about 3 weeks. SC and FL

Lol...Us too, finally cooler weather, let's camp!!!! - AJBertExplorerI'll be bringing out the TT for the first time this year in about 3 weeks (wife made me get a summer job, don't ask). Then again in Nov. Truth be told, this is why I got the TT, for hunting in the fall.
- austingtaExplorerJust come down south. We start having nice weather about now.
- DutchmenSportExplorerYou really need to try winter camping. Keep your water lines and plumbing winterized, use a port-a-potty and dump that into a pit toilet, and carry water in separate containers (not your holding tanks). Take cat baths, heat water on the stove, and you can still continue camping, even with snow on the ground.
My wife and I were discussing this today. November 1, the State Parks in Indiana turn off the water. We're simply not ready to stop yet. We are planning on South Carolina over Christmas, but as long as the roads are passable (snow you know), I think we will continue going week-ends to our favorite State Parks in Indiana.
No reason to stop just because of cold weather. You just have to adjust how you do it!
