We were at a park near Pensacola Fla a couple of years ago. It was a nice evening, clear skies and a warm breeze. Around mid night it started to sound like a thunder storm moving in off the Gulf, but the thunder didn't sound quite right. Didn't see any lightening either. hmmm. Went back to sleep. The next morning I talked a camper who lived nearby. No, that wasn't thunder, it was live artillery shells the Air Force was running drills with!
