It seems to me that we are all missing one important point. The kids obviously have been trained, and respect the wishes and request of their mom to stay put and inside. How many errant kids today would do that?
I am thinking when she leaves for work in the morning her heart is broken by what she has to do. I still think a friendly off the cuff conversation with the mother maybe of help to her and all concerned. Only if you are going to be there long enough, to really care.
