NOTE: this applies to any standard lamp.
The LED equivalent is something like 4 or 5 watts if I recall correctly. 20 watts times 24 hours is 448 watt hours, figure one 1/2 KWH per day, so if you are paying 30 cents a KWH and using the lamps 1/2 of the day, you'd need about half a year to save 10 bucks. The fact you are running through the converter is not a factor.. watts are watts.
NOTE: all numbers are "If I recall correctly" if I'm wrong.. Adjust the math.
