I have had great success with Leer tonneau covers. I have purchased three 700 Series tonneau covers from Truck N America over the last five years. Each time, I only had to give a $200 deposit, and I had my cover installed within two weeks. My most recent cover was installed about ten days after I placed the order over the phone. The paint is a perfect match and the fit is perfect.
I think you were dealing with a worthless distributor who held onto your (excessive) deposit for as long as possible before ordering your cover from Leer. I'm sorry your experience was bad, but I don't think you should think poorly of Leer because of it.
