length

I own a small rv park and RV for 5 months a year but my unit is left in the states so I cant measure.
The question I have would any one know what length from the rear of the tires to the front jacks on 40 ft fiver would be or on a large coach. I am thinking of paving or pouring pads in my rv park and looking for a good length to cover the larger units for the pads right now I am thinking of 35 ft x 10 ft any suggestions thanks in advance.
  • Thanks we have started with the packed gravel on 37x10ft and using lazer leveling as we have a grassy area for the tables just trying to upgrade a little plus anyone who thinks digging down to be perfect level will be rolling down the road thanks for all the suggestions.
  • To answer your question, I have a 40' 5'ver and the distance from the front legs to the back of the tires is about 23', and from the front legs to the rear stablizers is about 26'.
  • I have a 40' 5er,but my rear stabs are only about a foot in from the rear.From the rear tires to back of trailer is 12'of overhang,and 6' of overhang in the front for the bedroom.
    35' pad would work,BUT would I want to fight it onto the pad? Don't forget you need room for pickup to get a straight shot onto the pad.

    Try mixing some dry cement in with the crusher run and water it down,it will pack it tighter.

    And put it in the rules no digging out the stone pad to level.

    The pads I did workcamping,about every other month we had to scrape down the middle crown to the sides,the next year that we stopped there the pads were pretty much level and set.

    I know it costs money,but usually cheaper to do it right the first time.
  • If you have the space available, I would also go a little wider than 10 foot. Most TT are 8 foot wide so that only leaves a 1 foot margin on each side. Yes, it will work, but 12 or even 15 foot wide would be great
  • We have the crushed stone already, but have issues with settling and a few who think digging holes in the gravel to level out and then driving away so we are looking at this option
    I thinking that a 40 ft 5th wheel has the rear over hang and front hitch over hang and at the high cost of doing this every foot will save $$$$ the length from front jacks to the rear of the tires even with a large coach should not be over 35-37 ft.We are looking at options to keep prices down.
  • 20/35 would ideal but a packed gravel run for the RV and a 8/25 or 30 padio would be nice but put it far enough forward for the front door on most deisels and remember most people have a car or truck with them.
  • To fit a 40' 5th wheel,35' would work but would be tight getting the camper just right so all the jacks will be on the pad. A 40/45' pad would be ideal.
    Actually a load of crusher run stone would work and be cheaper,and you could also do a patio area,just pack it down.
