Another thing. I never go camping more then 50-70 miles from home. In my area agriculture is the dominant industry. But, the farms are getting bigger, and bigger. So, this means less family's live in the area. Less families means less tax base. Less tax base means less income for the parks. Plus, the environment in my area is taking quite a hit from industrialized agriculture. (Now, that's how I make my living so I'm kinda looking a gift horse in the mouth.) But, the parks are deteriorating and the lakes are silting up and becoming green and slimy sooner. I wonder how long I will still be able to take my dog with me camping at the lake because of the Blue Green Algae problem. If the lake gets that stuff in it and the dog drinks the water it dies. I figure in a few years it will be everywhere and that will be that.
