I don't believe in our neck of the woods there is a drop in the younger generation of campers. I do believe that younger generation may have cut down on the number of outings per year. We sure did! And we are not that young. Unfortunately the economic downturn affected the amount we were able to camp and it did for the younger crowd of campers I know. All of our children camp and a lot of their friends their ages do. I see them all camping a bit more than the last year or two or three. But it still is not anywhere near what it used to be 6 or so years ago. Things take time to get back up, after being so far down. I do know the price of gasoline is a big factor, as well as the price of propane today! Wow! We know quite a large group of younger generation of campers just from our small circle of life. Maybe that has something to do with where we live. You can drive an hour from our home and camp. I do agree that it is a great way to spend quality time together. My parents took my family camping quite often our whole lives and thankfully my Husband and I were able to pass that on to our children. What a great tradition to pass on!!
