Total scam. Offer to just send him a check instead to get it all over with and see how he reacts - he won't know what to think. LOL
I have a trailer for sale and made the mistake of putting my phone number in the Craigslist reply contact (not directly in the posting). I have since removed it, but I got a text message every day telling me someone wants to buy it and would I please send my Paypal contact. Every scam I've ever seen begins with "Do you still have it?" and usually within hours of listing it.
A friend was selling a leather couch and had someone want it who said they would send a check, which never arrived. They were phishing for addresses.
