The IRS scammers try to hit older people it seems. The last time they tried that, I more than invited them to send the local police, as the job I was working at... I was physically inside the local police station.
So far, the scams that my cell gets hit with:
1: Auto warranties.
2: Alarm systems.
3: "Credit cards", which have some real oddball thing, like demanding a lien on a car or home.
As for selling stuff, my Craigslist experience was with an acquaintance that was an off-duty LEO who was kind enough to help out. The buyer initially agreed to pay in cash, but when he came, he demanded to pay in gift cards. I turned the buyer away, he got belligerent, and it took a flash of a badge to get the "buyer" to leave empty handed.
I'm probably going to change to an Android phone soonish, if only just to run Mr. Number or some other program that searches a database if the number is known, and if it is a robodialer, kick it to voicemail.
